Emoji Mode — Trial IV

Decode Emoji Clues to Name the Character

About Glyph (Emoji) Mode

Glyph mode distils an Elden Ring character into a short sequence of emoji. Read the symbols as a puzzle about their identity, appearance, weapon, story, or title, then name the Tarnished soul they represent. It rewards lateral thinking as much as lore knowledge. A sequence of a blade, a butterfly, and a swamp might describe Malenia and her Scarlet Rot; a dragon, lightning, and a horse might point to Radahn’s comet-summoning, horseback battle against the Night’s Cavalry-riding demigod; a crown, a fire, and a spider could describe Rykard, lord of Volcano Manor, who was devoured and reborn as the serpent-god Ourboros.

How to Play Glyph (Emoji) Mode

  1. Read the emoji sequence from left to right as layered clues.
  2. Interpret each symbol as a trait, item, location, or story beat.
  3. Submit the character you think the glyphs describe.

Tips & Strategies

  • Emoji often encode a weapon, a creature, or a key location from the character’s arc — a scythe usually signals Maliketh or a Reaper-wielder, while a tree points to the Erdtree or the Haligtree.
  • Combine the symbols rather than reading them in isolation — the whole tells the story, and a single glyph in isolation is almost always ambiguous between several characters.
  • Family and faction symbols (a crown for royalty, a flame for the Frenzied Flame, a moon for Ranni and the Carian lineage) narrow candidates fast when combined with a second, more specific glyph.
  • Wordplay and visual puns are common, so think beyond the literal meaning — a puzzle piece plus a knight might hint at Godrick the Grafted, who stitches limbs from the fallen onto himself.
  • If the sequence feels like a title rather than a scene, think about epithets: "Blade of Miquella," "Lord of Blood," or "the Radiant" all map to specific, well-known figures.
  • Colour glyphs carry weight too — a red or scarlet symbol leans toward Caelid, Malenia, or Romina’s rot-themed arc, while gold or white leans toward the Golden Order figures like Godrick, Morgott, or Marika herself.

Community Favourite

Emoji Mode is widely considered the most creative and lighthearted of all seven Eldendle challenges. Players frequently discuss their interpretations after the daily reset — the same sequence of emoji can suggest multiple readings, making community debate a feature rather than a flaw. Share your Emoji Mode result after solving it and compare creative interpretations with other Tarnished.
